Paintings can present some special problems when it comes to storage. Regardless of how long you will be storing them, follow these tips to help keep them safe.
Quick tip: Storing paintings
Begin by cleaning frames with a soft microfiber cloth. You do not need any chemical cleaning products for this.
Next, wrap framed paintings so that the tissue paper or other breathable material does not touch the painted surface.
Once wrapped correctly, place each painting in its own cardboard box. Or layer them with two sheets of cardboard in a single box. Finally, store way from direct sunlight in a dark area. The average humidity should be mild with a steady temperature of 70 degrees.
