How to store linens

Linens and soft goods are susceptible to mold and insects during storage or travel. Use these tips to make sure everything is kept safe and is ready to use when unpacked.

Protect bedding and draperies by first cleaning and drying them thoroughly. Then fold and place these items into storage containers, preferable plastic bins with lids. However, if your are using cardboard boxes, line the box with clean, unprinted paper. This will help to limit dirt and dust from building up on your linens.

Do not overlook properly packing rugs. Rugs of every size should be vacuumed and the rolled in plastic. This will help to limit pests that would be attract to the residue left over on rugs.
